ALMOND MOCHA SMOOTHIE

Some days just call for a little indulgence – Fridays for me is often that day! After a long week of traveling in and out to work, busy days and herbal formulations it’s nice to spoil my self with a little healthy indulgence.

The key to indulgence is picking foods that will make you happy but also nourish you inside and out! Cacao is one that hits all the right spots. Cacao is naturally rich in Tryptophan which is a precursor for Serotonin the Feel Good hormone, responsible for balancing our moods – so really there’s no reason NOT to make this! Food as Medicine at its finest!

This recipe does feature cold drip coffee; coffee is best avoided during pregnancy, breastfeeding, conception and with individuals adrenal fatigue.

This Recipe Gluten Free, Dairy free, Soy free, High protein, Sugar free 

I N G R E D I E N T S 

1 cup of organic almond mylk (homemade is best)
1 tablespoon organic pea protein, chocolate
1 tablespoon organic cacao powder, raw
1/2 frozen banana
pinch of cinnamon powder
handful of ice

M E T H O D

1. Add all the ingredients into a high-performance blender.
2. Blend until smooth.
3. Pour into a glass or jar and enjoy straight away

NOTE: if you have to use a straw avoid plastic where ever possible – there are reusable glass, bamboo, steel options that not only reduce waste but also help save our ocean animals.
